By DayDebrief ·

Who needs to check?

Fedora announced version 45 on 3 November. Its accompanying migration guide says the upgrade removes NetworkManager-vpnc and NetworkManager-fortisslvpn if they are installed. This concerns connections relying on those plugins; the announcement does not say all VPN connections are affected.

The replacement paths Fedora lists

What to do before upgrading

If your setup uses either legacy plugin, read Fedora’s migration steps and verify a replacement connection before depending on it for access. For a workplace VPN, check the gateway requirements with whoever administers it.
